At sea
Reading a book and losing at trivia
Quiet day with not much to report.
I left Barb in bed, sleeping and watched the sunrise. Then I did laps at a fast walk around the ship. I didn’t want to do laps but just about everyone else up that early was doing laps and let me tell you, the peer pressure was real.
I headed up to the gym and discovered we have a dedicated group of gym rats, all using the various machines, talking weights, protein powder and, since they were all seniors, bladder control.
Most of the day was me reading on a lounger in the shade, Barb beside me starting conversations with fellow travellers. I finished the book (The Compound, 3.5/5) and am moving on to something new.
We played trivia in the lounge in the late afternoon and got 16 out of 22 (should have gotten 17). The winner had 20. Hopefully we’ll be back in time tomorrow to play again and defeat today’s winner. Not that it’s a competition, it’s about having fun.
Yeah, right.
Had a marvellous steak for dinner, Barb had a shrimp skewer. I’m in charge of taking photos of the food, so naturally I forgot.
We are at sea all day on our way to Georgetown in the Cayman Islands. Because of local laws all the alcohol from the mini fridges has to be collected and only one bar can be open while we are in port.
There are 3 other cruise ships there tomorrow, about 10,000 passengers.
We have a non ship excursion plan to see the stingrays and go snorkelling. The excursion is to be finished by 4 and the last tender to the ship is 530 so we should be fine, but that didn’t stop my anxiety from shifting into overdrive tonight.
I’m a SUCH a joy to live with sometimes.
I’m on to a new book, Dan Brown’s Secret of Secrets. 1 book down, 16 to go.
